FLETCHER Struggles With Thoughts Of An Ex On “About You”

FLETCHER perfectly illustrates another facet of heartbreak on her new single “About You.” The 25-year-old kicked off 2019 with her biggest hit to date – “Undrunk.” The brutally honest anthem peaked at number 61 on the Billboard Hot 100. It also ushered in a new era for the hitmaker, which continued with last month’s equally revealing “If You’re Gonna Lie.” Out today (May 24), her latest captures the agony of being haunted by memories of an ex. “Drinking my coffee just ruined my day. Picturing us at that corner cafe,” she laments on the opening lines. “Grabbing my keys, they feel heavy to me. Cause you gave me back the one you don’t need.”

“Maybe I still got some shit left to say. Maybe your ghost is stuck in my brain,” she shouts over production from Malay on a later verse. Everything builds up to the chorus, where FLETCHER seeks an expiration date for those thoughts. “Yeah I’m just wondering, when I’ll stop wondering about you,” she sings. And her outlook is fairly bleak. “A thousand miles away, but you still got your hands on me. And I’m thinking, I’ll never stop thinking about you.” At the rate things are going, her forthcoming, major-label debut is shaping up to be absolutely unforgettable. Press play on her third gem in less than six months below.
