Rita Ora and Kygo team up for 'Detective Pikachu' anthem 'Carry On.'

This week’s New Music Friday lineup is jam-packed with pop divas. Katy Perry is kicking off the KP5 era with “Never Really Over,” while Miley Cyrus returns with a mixtape called She Is Coming. Other queens in the mix include Bebe Rexha, Tove Lo, Camila Cabello and Charli XCX. Joining them is Rita Ora. The UK pop star is dropping a new banger called “Ritual” on May 31. It’s an all-star collaboration with EDM heavyweights Tiësto and Jonas Blue. Which means that club domination is all but assured.

Of course, Rita is no stranger to dance anthems. She recently teamed up with Kygo for “Carry On,” the theme song from Pokémon: Detective Pikachu, and featured on Avicii’s last big hit “Lonely Together.” It’s nice to see the 28-year-old keeping busy between eras. Phoenix took an incredibly long time to come together, so she would be forgiven for taking an extended break. But Rita’s nothing if not hard working. And with the weather slowly heating up, “Ritual” is destined to be a big song across Europe this summer.
