Spain's crossover queen has a global smash on her hands with 'Con Altura.'

Rosalía is the crossover queen of 2019. The Spanish pop star lent her voice to James Blake’s haunting “Barefoot In The Park” and then landed a worldwide hit with “Con Altura.” The catchy banger has racked up more than 100 million Spotify streams, while the video has been viewed more than 240 million times. She should experience similar success with “Aute Cuture” — a bold banger with dizzying beats and the kind of chorus that lodges in your brain after one listen and refuses to leave.

What’s it all about? In short, movement. Rosalía literally wrote the song while dancing. “I did something weird, something that I usually never do… I started dancing while I was doing top lines,” she told Zane Lowe on Apple Music’s Beats 1. “Just moving. I was thinking physically.” That process imbues the song with a certain propulsive energy. “[It] makes you move I think,” she added humbly. As for her much-anticipated third LP? “I think I will experiment a lot, and not everything is going to be about movement for sure. That’s all I can say.”

Rosalía also dropped the Tarantino-inspired video today (May 30) and it’s an explosion of color, choreography and nail art. Watch below.
