Daya is on a hot streak this year. The 20-year-old reinvented herself with the release of her very catchy “Insomnia.” Now she’s got another hit on her hands with her latest release. This time, she lends her voice to the Diane Warren-penned “Forward Motion” for the Late Night soundtrack. The film stars Mindy Kaling and Emma Thompson and lands in theaters June 14. And her contribution to the project is an inspiring bop. “Don’t let the negative ever get in your way. Don’t let it mess up your life, don’t let it fuck up your day,” the “Hide Away” star urges. “Gotta keep going. Keep moving in forward motion,” she adds on the chorus. “Never look back, no reason. No, no, nothing’s gonna stop you now.”

“I’m excited to be collaborating with such cool and inspiring females who are all pushing boundaries in their respective fields,” Daya enthused in a press release. “‘Forward Motion’ is the perfect soundtrack to celebrate these females and others like them and I’m honored Diane decided to give me a chance on this.” Warren also opened up about the opportunity in a statement of her own. “I am excited about the song I wrote for the movie, ‘Forward Motion,’ sung by the talented artist Daya. I can’t wait for people to hear this song and see this movie.” Press play on “Forward Motion” below.
