Troye Sivan & Charli XCX Have Another Banger On The Way

UPDATE: As promised, Charli XCX and Troye Sivan live-premiered their new song “2099” during Go West Fest last night. Check out some video footage from the performance below.

Charli XCX is one of the busiest people on the planet. Last month she linked up with Lizzo on the pop-saving “Blame It On Your Love.” She also answered a call from the pop gods to celebrate the Spice Girls reunion tour with a reworking of “Wannabe” called “Spicy.” The latter, which featured production from Diplo and Herve Pagez, arrived last week. Since then, she live-premiered a collaboration with Christine and the Queens which appears to be titled “Gone.” And she has even more new music on the way. What’s next? Yesterday (June 3), the generous diva hopped on Twitter to casually announce a second duet with Troye Sivan.

The pair linked up on their nostalgia-inducing “1999” last year. And it looks like they’ve hit the studio again to cook up something even bigger. “imagine if i made another song with @troyesivan and put it on my album and it was even wilder than 1999,” Charli mused. Troye was quick to voice his support. He also reminded her that they were sharing a stage at Go West Fest this Thursday (June 6). “MAYBE WE SHOULD PERFORM IT FOR THE FIRST TIME ON THURSDAY NIGHT,” the “Focus” hitmaker teased. She promised they would “SLAAAAAYY EVERYONE WITH OUR IMPECCABLE TASTE AND TALENT.”

In a follow-up message, Charli officially confirmed plans to play the new collaboration this week. We don’t know much about the song just yet. However, based on their track record, it is safe to assume another banger is on the way. Check out their tweets below.
