Madonna Really Did Not Like Her ‘New York Times’ Profile
The New York Times magazine ran a profile on Madonna yesterday (June 5) and spent most of it wondering aloud how she feels about getting older. The article barely touched on Madame X, which arrives on June 14, but did mention her decor and preference for flattering lighting. Understandably, the Queen of Pop was less than impressed. “To say that I was disappointed in the article would be an understatement,” the 60-year-old began a lengthy response on Instagram. “You cant fix society and its endless need to diminish, disparage or degrade that which they know is good.”
“The journalist who wrote this article spent days and hours and months with me and was invited into a world which many people don’t get to see, but chose to focus on trivial and superficial matters such as the ethnicity of my stand in or the fabric of my curtains and never ending comments about my age which would never have been mentioned had I been a MAN,” she continued. “Women have a really hard time being the champions of other women even if they are posing as intellectual feminists.”
“I’m sorry I spent 5 minutes with her,” Madonna concludes. “It makes me feel raped. And yes I’m allowed to use that analogy having been raped at the age of 19.” In music related news, the pop icon will released “Dark Ballet” as the fifth and final buzz track from Madame X tonight at midnight ET.
