It hasn’t even been 24 hours since Taylor Swift officially announced her new album Lover. But she’s already gracing us with new music. Swifties believe the 29-year-old caused an outage on Instagram when she broke the news about her seventh LP (for what it’s worth, she hilariously disagreed). The collection drops August 23 and is shaping up to be decidedly lighter than her last effort Reputation. That’s based on the rainbow-bright cover art, lead single “ME!” and the latest song off the tracklist – “You Need To Calm Down.” Out today (June 14), her new single is another vibrant anthem.

Co-produced and -written by Joel Little, it features a message for all the haters out there on the sing-along chorus: “You need to calm down. You’re being too loud.” Taylor delivers the manifesto over vibe-friendly beats. And everything about it screams hit. It will be interesting to see how the track fares on the charts. Of course, the “Delicate” hitmaker kicked off the era with a certified smash. “ME!” peaked at number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and has racked up more than 150 million Spotify streams since April. But this feels much more instant.

If nothing else, it is guaranteed to be a serious contender for the title of Song Of The Summer. With any luck, it may also be the diva’s next chart-topper. Press play on Taylor’s latest below.
