Adam Lambert Announces New ‘Velvet’ Single “Comin In Hot”
Adam Lambert’s Velvet era is coming together. Last month the 37-year-old launched his fourth album with “New Eyes.” The rock-infused anthem amassed 2 million Spotify streams and garnered positive reviews following a performance on the season finale of American Idol. And he’s ready to satisfy fan’s hunger for more with another taste of the project. Today (June 18), he announced the impending release of the LP’s second single “Comin In Hot.” Thankfully, we don’t have to wait too long to hear it. The track arrives June 26. The crooner also generously unveiled what appears to be the official cover art.
Posing in all black against a simple background, he simmers for photographer Joseph Sinclair. Based on the font, I would expect a slightly retro bop of some sorts. It will be interesting to hear how the song fits in with “New Eyes.” Is it going to be another groovy cut or will it explore a slightly different sonic direction? We’ll have to wait and see. No matter what, though, it is clear Adam is feeling the material he’s been working on. He said as much in an interview with Hunger last month. “I believe in the music so much, I feel like I’ve followed my instincts and my intuition more than I ever have.”
And there’s even more to look forward to. Replying to a fan on Instagram, he confirmed that there is an official video in the works for “Comin In Hot.” Hopefully we’ll get more news about that and a snippet in the coming days. In the meantime, check out the cover art below.
