Now is the time to start familiarizing yourself with Georgia Ku. The Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter is just getting around to releasing her debut single. That being said, she’s already flexed her pen working with the likes of Dua Lipa (“Scared To Be Lonely”), Rita Ora (“Soul Survivor”) and Kiiara (“Be Somebody”). Last year she lent her voice to NOTD’s viral sensation “So Close.” And today (June 21), she launches her solo career in earnest with the release of “What Do I Do.” Produced by Monsters & Strangerz, the song captures the heartbreak of a failed relationship.

“I can’t wear this dress. I wore it that night we met. We talked til the sunrise, and I fell asleep on your chest,” Georgia achingly admits on the opening lines. Those feelings spill over on the deeply relatable chorus. “What do I, what do I do when everything reminds me of you? What do I, what do I say? I might as well just throw these words away. So where’s the part where this gets better? Does it ever?” The rising star opened up about the track in a press release. “I’m all for female empowerment anthems,” she explained. “But sometimes it’s alright to not feel okay, and I wanted to create a space to be vulnerable in those moments.”

Based on the quality of the song (emo-pop perfection), it is abundantly clear that Georgia is One To Watch. Give “What Do I Do” a listen and check out the equally emotional, Sebastian Sdaigui-directed video filmed on location in Puerto Rico below.
