Adam Lambert's Groovy 'New Eyes'
Adam introduces his 4th LP with a '70s-inspired rock track called 'New Eyes.'

Adam Lambert’s Velvet LP is coming along nicely. The 37-year-old introduced the album with a stripped-back track called “Feel Something” in February. The Glamorous One was quick to point out that it wasn’t his lead single. Rather, that honor belonged to a retro rock anthem called “New Eyes.” It was followed with another ’70s-tinged tune called “Comin In Hot” a couple of weeks ago. Adam is clearly looking to the past for inspiration, so it only makes sense that the remix would also evoke another time and place.

Sam Sparro and Knights Of Zion transform “Comin In Hot” into a slinky, disco-influenced floorfiller. The song survives the genre switch largely intact and is further proof that Adam can do it all. Pop, rock and dance. (And probably country and polka). According to the press release, Velvet is being released in two parts with Side A dropping in September. Just don’t expect any sellout radio fodder. “I love making and performing music, but there have been many times where I’ve had to compromise on my artistic vision,” he in an open letter to fans.

“Don’t get me wrong,” Adam further clarified. “I’m VERY proud of my body of work. But I’m coming out of a dark period of second guessing my own artistry.” If the first three singles are any indication, Adam has found his voice and is finally making music on his own terms.
