Shura's Striking 'religion' Video
The UK pop star returns with a new bop called 'religion (u can lay your hands on me).'

Shura’s debut album, the excellent Nothing’s Real, was met with an outpouring of critical (and fan) adoration in 2016. Instead of heading straight back to the studio, the Brit took a little break to recharge. During this time, she struck up a long distance relationship and fell in love. A twist of fate that would ultimately became the inspiration for her forevher (out August 16). The 27-year-old recounts an unusually high-stakes first date (that’s what happens when you fly across the Atlantic to meet someone) on “the stage” over dreamy synths and mellow beats.

“[It’s] about my first date with my current girlfriend,” Shura reveals in the press release. “I DM’d my friends MUNA who were playing a show the night that I arrived and asked them if they could get us both in, and they loved the concept of a first date at a MUNA gig. I wasn’t sure how the date was going until she took my hand whilst trying to lead me to a spot where I could see them play,” she continues. “Then I knew it was all going to be OK.” Listen to the loved-up, disco-inflected banger below.
