The ‘Once Upon A Time… In Hollywood’ Soundtrack Is A ’60s Time Capsule
Quentin Tarantino’s critically-adored Once Upon A Time… In Hollywood opens this week (on July 26, to be specific). The film, which is set in 1969, has been described as a love letter to the ’60s and that is certainly true of the soundtrack. Curated by Tarantino himself, the album contains more than 20 tracks from artists such as Paul Revere & The Raiders, Deep Purple, Neil Diamond, The Box Tops and Simon & Garfunkel, as well as vintage radio ads and cuts from other soundtracks of the era.
The painstakingly researched and assembled collection will be released digitally on July 26. There will also be multiple special editions released on limited-edition vinyl, which will be sold exclusively at Amoeba Records in Hollywood and Quentin Tarantino’s New Beverly Cinema. Don’t worry if you’re not an Angeleno. A wider vinyl release is due in the coming weeks, including a deluxe version that includes four posters and a map of Hollywood.
