Meghan Trainor Lifts Spirits With Mood-Boosting “Run Like The River”

This week’s New Music Friday features soundtrack contributions from some very talented divas. Kesha delivered a jolt of pure positive energy with her latest made-for-film gem “Best Day (Angry Birds 2 Remix).” Meanwhile, Meghan Trainor is keeping things equally uplifting on “Run Like The River.” Her song is the first off the Playmobil: The Movie soundtrack. And it’s another mood-lifting bop that promises to brighten even the darkest days. “You’re allowed to feel however you feel. You don’t always have to hide your tears,” the hitmaker promises on the opening lines.

“Even if today doesn’t go your way, I bet I’ll get you smiling ear to ear.” That’s when the production (courtesy of Meghan and Andrew Wells) picks up. “Everybody has their days. I know we gon’ be ok,” she adds. “When the rain falls down, I promise I won’t run, run like the river.” It’s a cute track buoyed by the “With You” siren’s relentless good cheer. And with any luck this is the first of several bops to come from the soundtrack. She and Adam Lambert are both part of the star-studded cast and are expected to bless our ears with original music to accompany the project.
