Katy Returns With 'Never Really Over'
Katy Perry is back with a Song Of The Summer contender called 'Never Really Over.'

While “Never Really Over” hasn’t exactly been the chart-conquering smash that Katy Perry was hoping for (because we can’t have nice things in 2019), the summer anthem has succeeded in other areas. Firstly, it got the gays back on board and went a long way in shoring up whatever damage was incurred by the (deeply misunderstood) Witness era. Most importantly, it sets up KP5 nicely. She has barely promoted the song, leaving fans gagged for whatever performances and appearances are in store for the next single.

Not that “Never Really Over” has finished its run by any means. The strangely feel-good (given the lyrics) anthem is still climbing at pop radio, and remains very steady on streaming and digital. It should get an added boost by the arrival of a new remix by R3HAB. The Dutch DJ transforms the bop into a club-ready banger, reconstructing the track with the skill of a surgeon. Hopefully, this is the first taste of a full remix package. While we wait for that, check out “Never Really Over” 2.0 below.
