James & Julia's 'Peer Pressure' Video
James Bay and Julia Michaels drop a suitably intimate video for 'Peer Pressure.'

After spoiling us with multiple videos from Inner Monologue Part 1, Julia Michaels has been a lot more frugal with Part 2. However, what the era lacks in quantity, it more than makes up for in quality — as the “Body” visual proves. The powerful clip finds Julia peeling away items of clothing in a form of self-therapy. “In the video for ‘Body,’ I came up with the idea to start in a bunch of layers, and by the end I’m completely stripped,” she explained in an essay for Teen Vogue.

“The second verse of the song is me talking about how I cover up,” Julia continues. “I wear big, oversized sweatshirts so that I can cover my body. I do all these things to make me feel more comfortable in my own skin, but really it’s making me more uncomfortable when I take it off because I’m constantly masking myself. I wanted to show people how I am versus how I could be.” Watch the singer/songwriter’s raw, empowering video below. Julia’s Inner Monologue Tour will return to the states in October.
