Nasty Cherry joins the New Music Friday lineup with their third consecutive perfect release. The alt-pop girl group, signed to Charli XCX’s Vroom Vroom Recordings, debuted with “Win” earlier this year. They followed that up with the equally compelling “What Do You Like In Me?” and continue building out their sound on “Live Forever.” Out today (August 9), it’s another Charli co-write and a serious anthem. “My life’s too rock to roll. Everybody thinks that I lost control,” lead singer Gabbriette Bechtel chants over a production courtesy of Justin Raisen.

That builds up to the sing-along chorus that wouldn’t sound out of place on Charli’s pop/rock opus Sucker (that album deserved more). “Tried to escape, so you make me wanna live forever. I’m trying to hate you. But you know I’d rather come together.” Band-mate Georgia Somary described the song as “unconfined, unrefined and self assured” in a press release. She also opened up about the accompanying video, which she directed. “The video shows a less filtered side of the band,” she explained. “I wanted all of us to be seen as we are.”

“We just went to a theme park for my birthday, ate a ton of fried pickles and filmed most of it there on our phones, as well as in sessions, and at Gabriette’s apartment over two days.” This is sure to hold us over while the quartet continues putting in work on a debut EP. Due out sometime this fall, that’s something you’ll want to keep on your radar. In the meantime, fall in love with “Live Forever” below.
