Normani can do no wrong. The 23-year-old is poised to be one of the biggest stars on the planet. Since going solo, the Fifth Harmony alum has landed a string of mega-successful collabs including “Love Lies” and this year’s “Dancing With A Stranger.” Today (August 16), she returns with what is bound to be her next big hit – “Motivation.” Produced by Ilya Salmanzedeh and featuring writing credits from the likes of Ariana Grande and Max Martin, this was never going to be anything but a bop. However, it wasn’t clear just how massive the flirty anthem would be.

On it, she delivers a plethora of sensual lines. “Fallin’ into the bed. Why would we ever do somethin’ instead of fallin’ into the bed right now,” Normani sings. That leads up to the chorus. “I’ma break you off, let me be your motivation to stay and give it tonight. And baby, turn around. Let me give you innovation. ‘Cause I do it so right.” The song alone is an absolute smash. And, if possible, she one-ups herself with the accompanying video. For it, directors Dave Meyers and Daniel Russell crafted a video inside a video.

After opening with a prediction about how big the song will become, the diva puts on one hell of a show. Stylistically, she throws it back to the late ’90s and early aughts by serving incredible looks and even more jaw-dropping choreographed routines. She also works in a couple crafty references to some of the era’s best videos (think “Crazy In Love” and “…Baby One More Time”). After viewing, there is no doubt in my mind that Normani is destined for big things. Familiarize yourself with the song below and let us know if you agree.
