Sofia Reyes Interview
We speak to the rising Mexican pop star about 'R.I.P' and her upcoming album.

Genres and cultures collide on Cheat Codes’ “Highway.” A collaboration with Mexican pop star Sofia Reyes and French rapper/producer Willy William (of “Mi Gente” fame), the track is a summery bop with a feel-good message. “Remember they had me feeling low, I lift my head high and get back on the road,” Trevor Dahl sings. “Cause when you’re not hot people get cold.” Amen to that. Sofia then steps in for the chorus. “Ain’t no love on the highway if you keep it in park on the driveway,” she sings. “You ain’t gonna go too far, chilling in your broke down car.”

Willy then contributes a multi-lingual verse towards the end of the song that gives it a truly international flavor. What’s it all about? “They say life is a highway and we all travel our own roads, some good some bad, yet each is a blessing in itself,” Cheat Codes’ Kevi Ford explains. “We are lucky to say that the collaboration on ‘Highway’ felt incredibly organic with Sofia and Willy naturally gravitating towards the idea from the get go. Sofia’s melodies and Willy’s flow complete the song.” Listen to the sing-along bop below.
