Kygo & Whitney's 'Higher Love'
A nostalgic banger. Kygo remixes Whitney Houston's cover of 'Higher Love.'

“Higher Love” is a rare example of a posthumous release handled with care. Kygo’s remix of Whitney Houston’s cover of Steve Winwood’s ’80s classic (originally a Japan-only bonus track on I’m Your Baby Tonight) showcases that voice while bringing the song to a whole new generation of fans. Speaking of which, “Higher Love” has been a huge success around the world — cracking the top five in the UK and racking up 95 million Spotify streams. It also returned to pop icon to the Billboard Hot 100 for the first time since 2009’s “Million Dollar Bill.”

The feel-good, nostalgic banger will now find an even bigger audience thanks to a cute video starring Riverdale’s Vanessa Morgan. She plays an aerobics instructor in a room that time forgot. ’80s fashion and dance moves are on display, while Whitney’s “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” plays on an era-appropriate TV. It doesn’t take long for a group of guys to spot the lycra-covered ladies and ultimately join them for a little exercise. The Hanna Lux Davis-directed video is an exceedingly cute love letter to the ’80s. Watch below.
