UPDATE: It appears Lindsay Lohan’s new pop-saving bop is called “Xanax.” Listen to a longer snippet below.

Flashback: Lindsay Lohan's 'Bossy'
Can we all agree that Lindsay's cult classic banger deserved to be bigger?

It’s looking increasingly likely that Lindsay Lohan will make good on her promise to release new music. The “Rumors” hitmaker has been in the studio with songwriter/iconic artist Jesse Saint John (his previous collaborators include Britney Spears, Kim Petras and Lizzo) and it sounds like they are cooking up bangers. A snippet of the 33-year-old’s purported comeback single surface online today (August 28) and it goes hard. “When you kiss me I can’t breathe,” she purrs over club beats. “I’ve tried to stay away from you but you get me high, only person in this town that I like.” I’m very here for it.

“I have to record another album for Universal/Motown,” the singer/actress told fans way back in 2016. “And I will.” There was a caveat, however. “With that being said, my sister is signed to EMI,” Lindsay explained. “She’s recording a record, and out of respect for her and her true career choice… I want to respect her in that lane and stay in my lane working with children and creating films and writing and directing.” Ali Lohan’s album was (sadly) never released, so the ginger songbird is free to fly again.

Listen to a snippet of Lindsay’s new bop below. Fingers crossed it gets an official release date in the not-too distant future. Pop could do with a little sass, attitude and messiness right now.
