Leona Lewis' 'I Am': Album Review
Leona's new album is about much more than just showcasing her voice.

NBC’s Songland has been something of a goldmine for good pop music. Highlights, thus far, include Jonas Brothers’ “Greenlight” (penned by Able Heart) and Meghan Trainor’s “Hurt Me” (written by Kole). This week’s winner is a newcomer called Rozee. Leona Lewis selected “Fighting For Us” as her next single, ultimately retitling it “Solo Quiero (Somebody To Love).” The much-missed Brit also brought a couple of Latin collaborators on board. The track features colombian duo Cali Y El Dandee and Spanish producer Juan Mágan.

After an opening verse from Cali Y El Dandee, the “Bleeding Love” songbird takes over for the chorus. “All I want is somebody to love, somebody to love,” Leona belts over Juan’s summery, Latin beats. “All I need is somebody to love, somebody to love.” She then puts her heart on the line. “I don’t know you, but somewhere deep inside I really want to because all we need is somebody to love.” It’s a breezy banger with on-trend production and an instantly catchy chorus. It’s nice to have Leona back. Hopefully we’ll more new music from her in 2019!
