Don’t fuck with Bebe Rexha. That’s the general gist of the pop star’s new anthem, which takes a powerful stance against ageism (particularly towards women). “Beauty’s more than a number, when I was younger I didn’t know that,” she sings over The Monsters & Strangerz’s soaring production. “And if you gave me the chance I wouldn’t go back.” The hitmaker drives the point home on the chorus. “I’m not 20 anymore, don’t try to make me feel insecure,” Bebe belts. “‘Cause I’m aging like wine, I get better with time.”

“Not 20 Anymore” tackles a subject close to the “Last Hurrah” singer’s heart. “I recently had a MALE music executive tell me that I was getting too old and that my brand was ‘confusing,'” she shared on Instagram. “Because… I’m a songwriter and I post sexy pics on my Instagram and that’s not what female songwriters are suppose to do, especially for my age.” Bebe then embraced an imminent milestone. “Anyways, I’m turning 30 on August 30 and you know what, I’m not running away from it… I’m wiser, I’m stronger and TRUST ME I’m a much better lover than I was 10 years ago.”
