Edit: The post has been updated with the surreal video. It finds a literal devil meeting the lady of his dreams. Watch the action unfold below.

Ireland’s Inhaler established a loyal (and growing) fanbase with independently-released singles “My Honest Face” and “It Won’t Always Be Like This.” The four-member band should reach a much larger audience, however, with “Ice Cream Sundae,” their first single since signing to Interscope Records. “I’m in the pursuit of happiness (I’m gonna get it, I’m gonna get it),” frontman Elijah Hewson sings over fuzzy synths. “I can almost taste it melting on my fingertips and easy as an ice cream sundae slipping out of your hand.”

It turns out the sing-along anthem has little to do with tasty treats. “It’s about loss and gain,” Elijah explains. “I like writing about normal teenage experiences that everybody can relate to. I’m just trying to write about the joy of being alive, being a teenager, and the bad things that can come with that.” Inhaler was formed in school and is comprised of Elijah, Josh Jenkinson (guitar), Robert Keating (bass) and Ryan McMahon (drums). Listen to “Ice Cream Sundae,” which evokes ’80s and ’90s greats like Joy Division and The Stone Roses, below.
