Green Day's 'Still Breathing'
Veteran punk trio Green Day has released 'Still Breathing' from 'Revolution Radio.'

And they’re back! Green Day returns with a new single called “Father Of All…” — the first taste of their similarly-titled 13th LP (due February 7, 2020). The raging, rollicking punk/rock song was produced by Butch Walker and finds the trio at their angry best. “I’m impressed with the presence of none, I’m possessed from the heat of the sun,” Billie Joe Armstrong sings over a riot of guitars. “Hurry up ’cause I’m making a fuss, fingers up ’cause there’s no one to trust.” It’s fair to say that the band captures the zeitgeist with those sentiments.

What’s it all about? “The lyrics are like a party and lifestyle of not giving a fuck,” Billie Joe explained on YouTube. “The life AND death of the party. Not political. Surviving in chaos. The real shit.” He goes on to remind us that Green Day has been cutting through the bullshit for decades. “That’s how it’s always been for us. Everything else is fake. Frauds I tell ya!! Rock has lost its balls. We’re gonna teabag all these mother fuckers. The baddest rock band on the planet that gives a shit.”

Green Day also announced that they’re going on tour. They are teaming up with fellow rock heavyweights Fall Out Boy and Weezer for The Hella Mega Tour. The North American leg kicks off on July 17, 2020 in Seattle, Washington. See all the dates here and listen to “Father Of All…” below.
