Madonna Kicks Off ‘Madame X Tour’: See The Setlist

Madonna’s Madame X Tour has officially begun. After a short delay to handle last-minute production issues, the enduring icon launched her intimate show last night (September 17). Taking over New York’s BAM Howard Gilman Opera House, she blessed fans in the audience with a blend of material off her new album and timeless classics. Unsurprisingly, her 14th LP was very heavily represented. She opened with “God Control” and “Dark Ballet” and closed out the evening with “I Rise.” In between, a multitude of songs including “Batuka” and “Crazy” made their live debut.

She also showed love to her Maluma-assisted lead single “Medellín.” However, there are a couple songs missing off the Madame X tracklist. Chiefly I was hoping to see her Anitta collab “Faz Gostoso” and second Maluma duet “Bitch I’m Loca.” Both would absolutely go off in a live setting so I’m hoping they get added to the show at a later date. Other tracks that did make the cut include staples such as “Human Nature,” “Express Yourself,” “Vogue” and “Like A Prayer.” Interestingly, Madonna paid dust to Rebel Heart. Of course, with such a bountiful discography, it’s impossible to fit everything in.

It’s also possible that the show will morph and evolve as it goes on. We’ll have to wait and see. In the meantime, check out the opening night setlist below (courtesy of Setlist.fm). You can also pick up tickets to see the Queen Of Pop live here.
