Céline Dion Peels Back The Layers In Her “Imperfections” Video
Vocal queen and all-around living legend, Céline Dion, officially relaunched last week. She served up a musical tasting plate of sorts, delivering three excellent, strikingly different tracks from Courage (due November 15). There’s a stripped-back ballad (the gorgeous title track), the electro-tinged “Lying Down” and a mid-tempo earworm called “Imperfections.” Co-written by LAUV and produced by DallasK, the latter is by far the most contemporary and surprising of the trio.
Not only does it effortlessly bring Céline’s sound into 2019, it also has a distinct lyrical edge. After all, this is a pop song about self-healing and personal growth. The “Imperfections” visual, which was directed by Gabriel Coutu-Dumont, arrives today (September 26) and it’s as striking as the song. Shot in stunning black-and-white, the clip juxtaposes glamorous footage of the 51-year-old posing in couture outfits with a close-up of Céline removing her makeup. Watch the empowering video below.
