Rita Ora’s fantastic and revitalizing Phoenix remains one of the best pop albums of 2018. And, thankfully, it looks like there won’t be another five-year wait before she blesses our ears with her next project. Earlier this week, the generous 28-year-old teased a couple details about her third LP. Speaking to WWD, she revealed that it is tentatively expected to arrive sometime next year. Not only that, but the “Only Want You” diva hinted at the sonic direction. “It’s pop music,” she promised. However, there is a twist.

“But it’s just a very big surprise, a big shock of material. I’ve experimented a lot so I’m excited to hear what people think,” Rita explained. It will be interesting to see how the material compares both with Phoenix and the string of electro-kissed collabs she dropped this year. The hard-working hitmaker kicked off an action-packed 2019 by linking up with Sofia Reyes and Anitta on “RIP.” Since then she’s partnered with of Kygo (“Carry On”), Tiësto and Jonas Blue (“Ritual”) all while dropping videos for singles including “New Look.”

Hopefully we’ll get a taste of the new material before the end of the year. Until then, revisit her neon-drenched “New Look” video below.
