AK Builds Momentum With New Single “Closed Off”

AK (short for Austin Kassabian) is one of hip-hop’s hottest newcomers. After building a loyal following on YouTube with remixed freestyle covers, the 19-year-old from South Brunswick, NJ immediately found success with original songs like “Love Me,” “Selfish” and “Go Away.” He even sings occasionally as evidenced by recent hit, “Broken.” The rapper, who is managed by LH7, now rolls out another track from his debut EP, On Me. And it’s a response of sorts to AK’s newfound fame.

“3am late night chilling, I’ve been closed off because I like winning,” he raps on the opening verse. “A lot is going on what a nice feeling, I keep going up I don’t like ceilings.” Unfortunately, there’s a downside to this kind of upward momentum (AKA haters). “They mad I ain’t living in my past life, they mad I started living how I said I would be living.” AK decides to rise about it, however. “See ’em livid ’cause I’m winning I send ’em my prayers.” Listen to the breakout rapper’s new single below.
