Katy Perry is releasing a new single called “Harleys In Hawaii” on Wednesday (October 16). The pop heavyweight unveiled the suitably kitsch cover, which finds her perched on a motorcycle, earlier this morning on social media. It’s always dangerous to make predictions about a song based on the artwork, but something tells me this is not a power ballad. “Harleys In Hawaii” will be the third single from the 34-year-old’s upcoming fifth LP, which is expected to arrive before the end of the year.

The timing of this release feels right. Katy recently put a bow on (the very underrated) “Small Talk” by releasing a remix package and announcing a limited edition 12″ vinyl for Record Store Day. (There are only 4000 copies). She has set the tone for an era that combines the enlightenment of Witness with the big, bold pop sound of Teenage Dream. If “Harleys In Hawaii” can match the pop excellence of the two singles that came before it, KP5 is going to be great. Check out the campy cover art below.
