Nicki Minaj Says She Recorded A Collaboration With Adele
EDIT: It turns out that Nicki was just trolling. See her explanation for inventing the collaboration in a tweet below.
Well, this was a little unexpected! Nicki Minaj revealed that she has recorded a collaboration with Adele in a red carpet interview with Entertainment Tonight. “Adele made me swear to secrecy that I’m not allowed to tell anyone that I’m working with her and we already shot a video and it’s an epic song,” she blurted out. The news isn’t entirely surprising. After all the (not really) retired rapper has been singing along to Adele tunes on Instagram and the Brit famously nailed Nicki’s “Monster” verse on Carpool Karaoke.
It looks like the “Hello” hitmaker is really going to mix things up on her 4th album. There are already rumors of a collaboration with Taylor Swift as well as on-going secret sessions in London and New York with a raft of pop songwriters and producers. Adele’s album is reportedly due just before Christmas and is destined to be a mega-seller. As for Nicki, well, a song with the Grammy-winning songbird should give her that elusive number one hit and put Cardi B back in her place. Watch the red carpet interview below.
Nicki’s explanation:
Omg guys. 😅🤣 I thought everyone could clearly see I was being sarcastic. Shit! Now I have to go to Adele’s studio & steal some files. Who’s in the UK? I got a job for you 🥴 https://t.co/oyh4hECNCC
