Kesha's Phone Hotline
The pop star has started a phone hotline to update fans on new music.

It’s official. After teasing the words “High Road” on social media, Kesha now confirms it as the title of her new album. “I’m so excited to announce that my album High Road is coming!” the pop star wrote in an Instagram post. “I feel like this time around I reconnected to the unrestrained joy and wildness that’s always been a part of me, and in this process I have had the most fun I’ve ever had making a record. I hope you love it as much as I loved making it, and know I always have y’all in mind.”

The announcement was accompanied by a mini-documentary that addresses the inspiration for (and direction of) the album. “I’ve seen the light,” a dark-haired Kesha muses. “Life is like driving across the country in a pretty small astro van with your whole family in it for like 90 years because I think life is a vacation from where we go when we die.” That might be the most depressing metaphor for the human experience I’ve heard in a while, but the album promises to be an uplifting affair.

“When I wrote Rainbow I was in a very different headspace, I had to address some very serious things,” the former K$ confides. “But now, on my new record, I revisit my roots of pure and utter debaucherous joy. Kesha got her balls back and they’re bigger than ever. So have a good time while you’re on this road-trip from hell.” Excitingly, she also shares snippets of multiple new songs in the documentary (the title track sounds like a bop). All we need now is the release date! Get a taste of the hitmaker’s new era below.
