New Find: Griff's 'Didn't Break It Enough'
UK newcomer Griff builds momentum with the soulful 'Didn't Break It Enough.'

After releasing a series of well-received singles and EPs as an independent artist, Dana Williams eventually found her way to Island Records. And immediately upped the ante with striking singles “Holiday” and “Do No Harm.” She now returns with an endlessly relatable anthem about being your own worst enemy. “Hard” finds Dana checking herself over Alex da Kid and Jayson DeZuzio’s crunchy production. “I’m way too hard on myself, I’m way too hard,” the breakout singer laments. “I set the bar for myself too high for any arm to reach.”

“‘Hard’ came from noticing that I tend to be really hard on myself, and from wanting to explore self-love,” Dana explains. “There’s a fine line between self-improvement and self-acceptance, and I sometimes have to remember to be gentler with myself and to keep in mind that perfection doesn’t exist.” With any luck, this could be the song that propels the Dana to the next level. Listen to “Hard” (below) and get ready to be a whole lot kinder to yourself by the time it’s over. She is definitely One To Watch.
