FLETCHER perfectly details the stages of recovery following a breakup on you ruined new york city for me. From denial (“Undrunk”) to grudging acceptance (“Strangers”), the 25-year-old lays her heart out for us to examine across the EP. And each song brings something new to the equation. That’s the case for “All Love,” which captures the emotional sucker punch of unexpectedly running into an ex. Making matters worse, the former partner has already moved on. “You walk in the bar with someone holding hands. Introduce me to her, say I’m just an old friend,” she sings.

“And you ask how I’ve been. I say I’m doing fine but I’m lying.” What follows is an attempt to dull the pain. Today (October 29) the “About You” siren brings the experience to life with an official video. Directed by Grant Spanier, it combines a literal retelling of the lyrics with more conceptual shots of burning chairs, butterflies and a shattered disco ball. “I really wanted to capture the feeling of seeing your ex for the first time with someone new,” FLETCHER explained in a press release. How would she describe that emotional response?

“It’s a mix of butterflies, emptiness, your heart sinking and your stomach on fire all at the same time. At least that’s what it felt like for me. I hated the feeling, but pretended like it was all love.” Sounds pretty accurate to me. Check out the video below.
