Rosalía & J Balvin's 'Con Altura'
Spain's crossover queen has a global smash on her hands with 'Con Altura.'

Rosalía is arguably the breakout star of 2019. Not only has the 26-year-old dominated the Latin-pop space with global hits like “Con Altura” (one billion YouTube views and rising) and “Yo x Ti, Tu x Mi,” she has also carved out a niche in mainstream pop culture with her breathtaking videos, elaborate performances and striking looks. The Spanish superstar rolls out yet another undeniable bop today with “A Palé.” Co-produced with El Guincho and Frank Dukes, the track finds the sweet spot between Spanish flamenco and global rhythms.

What’s it all about? Well, “A Palé” is a reference to the wooden shipping pallets that Rosalía saw on a daily basis growing up in an industrial suburb outside of Barcelona. The banger is about defying the odds, being strong and — like the pallets — carrying a lot of weight. Those themes are aptly conveyed in the Jora Frantzis-directed video, which serves demented fashion and bone-twisting choreography. All in all, “A Palé” is another winner and a sure sign that Rosalía’s global takeover is only just beginning. Watch below.
