Let it be known that the Queen of Christmas is as generous as she is talented. Winter has just begun, but Mariah Carey has already given us so many gifts. Last week, she kicked off the holiday season by rolling out a deluxe edition of her beloved album Merry Christmas. Along with that came an alternative video for “All I Want For Christmas Is You.” And the Caution icon is just getting warmed up. Today (November 8), she returns with another surprise. And this one is rare. Mimi uploaded a previously unreleased performance of “Jesus Born On This Day” from her 1994 concert at the Cathedral of St John the Divine.

“Excited to share, for the first time ever, this performance of my original song Jesus Born On This Day (Live at St. John the Divine) featuring kids from the [Fresh Air Fund],” she gushed on Twitter. To the surprise of absolutely no one, the 5-octave earth angel absolutely nails the number. Her voice is legitimately chill-inducing, and it is so cute to watch her share the stage with the children’s choir. This is most certainly going to be a treasured addition to the archives for any member of the Lambily. And I know exactly how we can thank Mariah for the treat. By sending “AIWFCIY” to the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 this year. It’s what she deserves.
