Jewel makes a welcome return to the music scene today (November 14) with “No More Tears.” Her first single in four years is taken from the soundtrack of an upcoming documentary called Lost In America. The film, which she also executive-produced, takes an in-depth look at youth homeless — a predicament Jewel experienced firsthand. “I was homeless for a year when I was 18,” the singer/songwriter reveals. “I was so moved as I was working on this film, that I was inspired to write a song for the youth I came to know through the process.”

That song is a touching, hopeful ballad. “Heartbreak is like the weather ravaging my soul, but I know it moves on,” Jewel sings over acoustic, piano-dominated production. “Storms are followed by the most beautiful blue skies and I will keep carrying on.” Her voice really soars on the powerful chorus. “You see love is a mystery and I still see its shining face,” she belts. “There are no more sad songs, just blue skies and no more tears to cry.” Find out more information about Lost In America here and listen to “No More Tears below.
