HAIM Returns With 'Summer Girl'
The Haim sisters tease their third LP with a new single called 'Summer Girl.'

HAIM’s long-awaited third LP is coming together nicely. After kicking off their new era with the breezy “Summer Girl,” the trio explored significantly darker terrain on the bruising “Now I’m In It.” The third cut from the album arrived today (November 18) and “Hallelujah” falls somewhere in the middle. Ariel Rechtshaid, Rostam Batmanglij and Danielle Haim’s production is warm and gentle, but the lyrical content is deeply emotional. Simply put, this is an expression of gratitude and a love letter to each other.

“I met two angels but they were in disguise, took one look to realize,” Danielle begins the song. “Tell ’em anything and they will sympathize, these arms hold me tight.” Este is similarly reflective in her verse. “Laughing together like our thoughts are harmonized,” she sings. “Been that way since ’95.” All three sisters come together for the chorus. “Why me? How’d I get this hallelujah?” they ponder. Everything component of this deeply-felt song comes together seamlessly to create HAIM’s best single since “The Wire.”
