Kesha's 'Raising Hell' Video
The former K$ returns with a rollicking anthem called 'Raising Hell.'

Kesha made a welcome return to the music scene in late October. A rollicking pop/rock anthem with one of the catchiest choruses of the year, “Raising Hell” still hasn’t cracked the Billboard Hot 100. Which is some kind of hate crime. The feel-good bop should get a boost from the former K$’s performance at the AMAs on Sunday (November 24) and, if it doesn’t, she might just have more luck with “My Own Dance.” After all, the 32-year-old is giving the general public exactly what they want — albeit with a side of fuck-you.

Co-written with John Hill, Justin Tranter and Dan Reynolds, the track is response to people who lamented the lack of boozy bangers on Rainbow. “Woke up this morning feeling myself, hungover as hell like 2012,” the pop star begins the song, before parroting online idiots. “‘We get it that you’ve been through a lot of shit, but life’s a bitch — so come on, shake your tits.'” In true Kesha fashion, she claps back on the chorus. “Don’t circumcise my circumstance,” the hitmaker declares. “Hey, I don’t do that dance! I only do my own dance.” Right on!

Watch the trippy video, which was directed by Allie Avital, below. Kesha’s fourth album, High Road, arrives on January 10, 2020. I cannot wait.
