Lights & Steve James' 'Warrior'
Rising producer Steve James teams up with Lights for a new anthem called 'Warrior.'

After cutting his teeth producing songs for other artists (Justin Bieber’s “Purpose” and Martin Garrix & Bebe Rexha’s “In The Name Of Love” among others), Steve James decided to focus on his own music. It was a gamble that immediately paid off. This year alone, the 21-year-old has released a string of crossover-friendly club bangers like “Missing You” and “Fall For You.” He now teams up with rising Swedish pop star Nea for his catchiest track yet. “Still Ain’t You” is about missing your ex. Even if they weren’t particularly good to you.

“It feels like forever,” Nea sings over Steve’s shimmering synths. “I don’t know if you wanna know, but I’m doing better.” In fact, she has… kind of moved on. “I found somebody new someone, who fucks with me and loves the way I move,” she belts on the chorus. “Hands on my body and I’m feeling pretty good, but it still ain’t you.” It turns out that the producer has been holding on to the song for the best part of a year. “This is one of those songs I’ve been dying to release since the day we wrote it,” Steve explains.

“I remember leaving the session with Nea last October, and going right back to the studio to work on this until 8am the next day,” he continues. “I’ll always remember that version, ‘Still Ain’t You v5’… that’s pretty much the final you hear today. To me, it was pretty incredible that in less than 24 hours, it felt like we had made something magic.” We are excited to premiere Steve’s one-day miracle below.
