Taylor Swift Announces Holiday Original “Christmas Tree Farm”
2019 has been a banner year for Christmas originals. Alessia Cara, Mabel, Oh Wonder and Why Don’t We have all delivered future festive staples. Joining them is Taylor Swift. The superstar fired up her socials this morning to let fans know that she is releasing a new song called “Christmas Tree Farm” tonight (December 5). It turns out, the 29-year-old just penned a seasonal anthem and didn’t want to wait another year to put it out. After consulting with her cats, she decided to release it immediately.
“When in doubt, ask the itty bitty pretty kitty committee,” Taylor captioned a video of her cats looking perplexed. “When they shun you with silence, ambivalence, and judgmental brush offs… just put the song out anyway.” The “You Need To Calm Down” hitmaker then made her announcement. “NEW XMAS SONG AND VIDEO (made from home videos) OUT TONIGHT.” Needless to say, this is destined to give Mariah Carey’s all-conquering “All I Want For Christmas Is You” a run for its money on the holiday charts this year.
