Taylor Swift Escapes The Holiday Rush On “Christmas Tree Farm”
The holidays are fast approaching (no joke), and that means we’ve been treated to an influx of seasonal fare every New Music Friday. That holds true today (December 6) with the arrival of Taylor Swift’s festive bop “Christmas Tree Farm.” The 29-year-old has been hard at work since dropping Lover earlier this year. In the last few weeks she’s unveiled two remixes of the album’s loved-up title track. She’s also gearing up for the release of Cats and was just honored as the Artist of the Decade at the 2019 AMAs. Thus, it is hardly surprising to learn this time of the year is a little hectic for the star.
However, she finds an escape from the madness on her sunny new anthem. How so? Well, the lyrics speak for themselves. “I close my eyes, and I’m somewhere else. Just like magic,” Taylor sings. That’s when the production picks up as some shimmery sleigh bells come in. “In my heart is a Christmas tree farm. Where the people would come to dance under sparkles and lights.” Even better, the retreat comes with the benefit of a romantic partner.
