A woman's story about her remote working experience has gone viral on Reddit.

In the post, she explains how her new job's work-from-home policy turned out to not be what she thought it was when she agreed to take the job.

Working from home has become more of a regular and acceptable practice over the last couple of years.

The pandemic forced many employers to shift to remote work and some have decided not to go back to a physical office.

Many employees love working from home as it allows them to enjoy the comforts of their home and not have to worry about a commute.

The following text conversation is from a woman who accepted a job that only required her to go to the office "as needed."

The conversation begins with her asking her boss to unlock the office so others can enter to drop off paperwork.

This was not one of the days that she thought she needed to be in the office, so her arrival at noon didn't seem like it would be an issue—especially because her boss was not in the office either.

As her job was supposed to be flexible in terms of when she was needed to be in the office, telling her boss that she was working from home that day shouldn't have been a big deal.

Or at least that is what she thought.

Text that reads: No that is not what I told you - you are expected to be at Marcus 9am-5pm, Mon, Wed. Fri working at home Tue and Thu. I cannot cover for you all the time. Response: If you want to make changes to the job description I was provided, please do so formally in writing so I can reply with my 2-weel notice.

Her boss then counters with a schedule that she claims was agreed upon for when she could work from home and when she needed to be in the office.

She wanted to see these new terms formalized so that she could review them.

That did not appear to be an answer that her boss was too pleased with.

They would be having a meeting with human resources to straighten out the working expectations.

That Was The Last Straw

The boss thought that the working terms were agreed upon and again asked the employee to head into the office as it was required.

She was having none of that and decided to quit on the spot.

No Convincing Her Otherwise

Text that reads: You will need to give two weeks notice, and I think you should discuss this with me before you make hasty decisions without proper reflection. This is not necessary. Response: 1. No actually, I won't have to do that. 2. I did discuss this with you; see above. 3. No hasty, I just don't need the job , and it's not as described. I will drop off my keys and ID at my desk today.

Her boss seemed to have been taken aback by her response and wanted her to think long and hard about it.

She had made up her mind, though, and was planning on dropping off her things that same day!
