Adele Calls Out Concertgoer Who Brought A Tripod: “This Isn’t A DVD”
In all the fan footage of her 25 world tour so far, Adele seems more than happy to be onstage. One time she ranted about people who pressure women to breastfeed as if complaining to close pals. So she surprised during her May 29 show in Verona, Italy, when she sternly called out a concertgoer who was filming her.
“Yeah, I want to tell that lady as well, can you stop filming me with a video camera?” Adele said. “Because I’m really here in real life. You can enjoy it in real life, rather than through your camera.”
To be clear, Adele wasn’t taking issue with people who film her shows, period. After all, that is how we’ve gotten to see her sing “Set Fire to the Rain” in the rain, call Mariah Carey “biblical” and (try to) twerk. She was calling out this concertgoer for using actual film equipment.
“Can you take your tripod down?” she said. “This isn’t a DVD, this is a real show. I’d really like you to enjoy my show because there’s lots of people outside that couldn’t come in.”
