Tonight (August 26) is the night of the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards, and it is shaping up to be another big evening for music. Taking place at New Jersey’s Prudential Center, Sebastian Maniscalco will host this year’s show. It’s looking like it will be a particularly good time for some of music’s biggest female stars. Fresh off the release of Iconology, Missy Elliott will receive the coveted Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award. She’ll also perform during the show, and it seems safe to expect a medley of hits.

She’ll be in good company. Other confirmed performers include Miley Cyrus, Normani, Camila Cabello and Taylor Swift. Meanwhile, Taylor (who is opening the show) and Ariana Grande lead the nominees with 10 nods a piece. Trailing closely behind are breakout stars Billie Eilish and Lil Nas X. All four are in the running for several of the nights highest honors. That includes Video Of The Year. There they face off with 21 Savage and J. Cole’s “a lot” and Jonas Brothers’ “Sucker.”

Another stacked category is Best New Artist where Billie and Lil Nas are competing with the likes of Ava Max, H.E.R., Lizzo and ROSALÍA. Who will take home an award tonight? We’ll have to wait and see. In the meantime, reacquaint yourself with the list of nominees below and keep an eye on this post. We’ll update it as the wins come in. You’ll also be able to keep an eye on all the looks from the red carpet here and get highlights from the performances here.
