Ariana Grande just graced us with a double dose of content. Today (July 9) the wig-snatching pop princess unveiled a new photoshoot for Vogue. Shot by the legendary Annie Leibovitz, she poses in a home studio and at the beach with her dog Toulouse. There is also a sweet family portrait with her mom Joan and Nonna. In the accompanying interview, she opened up about her decision to embark on the Sweetener World Tour. “I was researching healing and PTSD and talking to therapists, and everyone was like, ‘You need a routine, a schedule,’” she explained. “Of course because I’m an extremist, I’m like, OK, I’ll go on tour!”

However, there were some challenges. “But it’s hard to sing songs that are about wounds that are so fresh. It’s fun, it’s pop music, and I’m not trying to make it sound like anything that it’s not, but these songs to me really do represent some heavy shit.” Ari also got candid about some of her previous projects. “There was a two-album period where I was doing half the songs for me and half the songs to solidify my spot in pop music,” she said. “A lot of my singles have been hilariously lacking in substance. You’re talking to someone who put ‘Side to Side’ out as a single. I love that song, but it’s just a fun song about sex.”

The expansive interview tackles a variety of topics. But that’s not all Ari shared today. She also unveiled a new video in support of her Thank U, Next anthem “in my head.” Directed by Bardia Zeinali, it’s a simple but thoughtful affair. Shot in a sparse, white room, the ponytail aficionado offers a glimpse into her mind. It will be interesting to see if Ari intends to promote “in my head” as a single. If so, she’ll very likely land yet another chart-dominating hit for her latest era. In the meantime, scroll through a gallery of photos from the shoot up top and give the video a view below.
