Surprise! Beyoncé Releases ‘Homecoming: The Live Album’
She did it again! Beyoncé pulled off another surprise early this morning (April 17) by dropping a live album to accompany her Netflix documentary. Homecoming: The Live Album is a 40-track opus that comprises her already-legendary 2018 Coachella performance as well as a couple of bonus tracks. Let’s start with those because new Beyoncé is always a blessing. The Queen of pop, R&B and all other genres delivers a live cover of Maze and Frankie Beverley’s 1981 classic “Before I Let Go” and a new rendition of “I Been On.”
The rest of the album captures Beychella in all its glory. There are too many highlights to mention, but it’s a special treat to finally have audio of the Destiny’s Child reunion (“Lose My Breath,” “Say My Name” and “Soldier”) and the 37-year-old’s first (and only) live performance of “Mi Gente” alongside J Balvin. Other moments of note include Blue Ivy’s version of “Lift Every Voice And Sing” and a rollicking interpretation of “Formation.” You can stream the album in full below and download it here. What a time to be alive!
