It’s (almost) the end of an iconic era. Britney Spears has announced the final dates for Piece of Me — what began as a two-year Las Vegas residency, though has since lasted twice as long. Her final show at Planet Hollywood takes place New Year’s Eve.

“We are done with this show, and our next move is undecided,” Britney’s Vegas manager Larry Rudolph tells Las Vegas Review-Journal. “We are still talking with Caesars Entertainment and other interested parties in Las Vegas.”

For the time being, Britney is performing abroad, an idea she began toying with earlier this year. “It’ll be fun to see my fans from overseas who haven’t been able to make it out to Las Vegas,” she said to Think magazine. The Glory singer has already disrupted the Israeli political process with her first-ever show in Tel Aviv, months in advance. She has also announced dates in Japan, the Philippines and Hong Kong.

But it will be hard for even Britney to match the impact she has had with Piece of Me. With that residency, she changed the face of the Las Vegas Strip forever, from a place where washed-up singers can stay afloat, to a destination for younger concertgoers with no interest in playing slotsMariah CareyJennifer Lopez and Backstreet Boys have all followed Britney’s footsteps and booked residencies in Vegas since.
