Album Review: BTS' 'MAP OF THE SOUL'
The K-Pop Kings get it very right on 'MAP OF THE SOUL: PERSONA.' Read our review.

Comparing the rise of BTS to Beatlemania might seem a little brave to the uninitiated, but there’s no denying that they are a legitimate phenomenon. The Kings of K-Pop are breaking down language and cultural barriers, one release at a time, and also re-writing chart history. (MAP OF THE SOUL: PERSONA recently became the 7-member group’s third consecutive #1 album in the US, while “Boy With Luv” debuted at a career-best number 8 on the Billboard Hot 100). They have earned the right to brag, which is essentially what appearing on US TV in full Beatles drag amounts to.

BTS recreated The Beatles’ iconic 1964 US TV debut on The Ed Sullivan Show when they dropped by The Late Show With Stephen Colbert last night (May 15). The Korean Gods belted out the aforementioned “Boy With Luv” — complete with multiple rap breakdowns and pin-point perfect choreography — and introduced themselves in an amusing intro. Time will tell if the boy band leaves as big an imprint on history as John, Paul, George and Ringo, but they are going to give it their best shot. Watch BTS in action below.
