Camila Cabello is radiant on the cover of the latest edition of The Edit. The 20-year-old is having a banner week as she tops both the Billboard Hot 100 and the Billboard 200 Albums charts after unleashing her self-titled debut album. In her latest feature, she opens up about the LP and delivers some sultry photos for the accompanying spread. Dressed in a series of jewel-toned looks, the “Havana” superstar looks every bit of an aspiring pop princess in the pictures. Posing in a black crop top on the cover and around an old home in the remaining snaps, this is easily one of her best shoots to date.

In the pages of the publication Camila opened up about how she benefited from her time with Fifth Harmony. “Being in a group teaches you about yourself. It brings out healthy competition – you never want to be the one that sucks,” she admitted. However, she explained the opportunity came with drawbacks. Chief amongst them was the limited opportunity to express herself. And as she began to write material of her own, she was left with no avenue to release it. “But once I was old enough to experience my first kiss, or the first time that I went out on a date, I began writing songs about it, and I didn’t want to give them away to anybody else because they were about me. I was finding my voice, and with it, I found the passion that gives you a deeper meaning.”

The “Never Be The Same” siren also talked about how recording her debut album was a liberating process. Originally titled The Hurting. The Healing. The Loving., she explained that it was retitled to reflect a refreshed point of view and the healing she had found in the recording studio. “That [title] was about a situation that just left me feeling horrible, and I thought my album would be sad seven months ago, but it’s not. This is my first album; it’s a reflection of me. I would never want to give the
power to somebody that hurt me. No way.” The interview also discusses her career beginnings on The X-Factor and her resolutions for 2018. Scroll through a gallery of pics from the shoot up top and read the rest of the feature here!
