Charlie Puth's 'Attention' Video
Love goes very wrong in Charlie Puth's unhinged 'Attention' music video.

Charlie Puth’s Voicenotes is shaping up to be an eclectic listen. The album has a couple of disco-infused bops (“Attention” and “How Long”), an old-school soul ballad with Boys II Men and a current hip-hop/pop hybrid (“Done For Me”). You can now add a protest song to the list. The 26-year-old teams up with James Taylor for “Change,” a timely track that was debuted at Saturday’s March For Our Lives. “It’s about everybody, as humans we all help each other and that song came about through collaboration,” the hitmaker explained in an Instagram live chat, before adding: “This is the most important song I ever wrote.”

“Look around there are too many of us crying, not enough love to go around,” the well-matched singer/songwriters croon in a verse. “But I know that the world will change, the day we know we’re all the same.” Charlie then drives his message of inclusion and togetherness home in the chorus. “Why can’t we just get along? If loving one another’s wrong then how are we supposed to get close to each other?” he ponders over a loose, stripped-back guitar arrangement. Listen to “Change” below. Voicenotes drops May 11.
